Do you ever feel like your life consists of bottles, diapers, Disney cartoons, cooking and cleaning? Do you ever feel like nobody understands you if you are a Stay at Home Mom or even a Work at Home Mom? Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch I am not about to talk about the whole debate of working and non-working Moms, so cool your jets. I am actually talking about this because of a conversation my Husband and I had recently.
Husband, “You don’t clean.”
Wife, “You don’t help with the baby.”
Husband, “I help with him when I get home from work.”
Wife, “Yes, you HELP but I don’t want anything to do with the baby for just TWO hours a day! I don’t even care if I am cleaning for those two hours. I just want to be baby free!”
Have you had that conversation in your house yet? Look fellas we don’t get to get out of the house and as adorable as our little tikes are we need time ALONE! I will cook and clean whatever you want but I do not want to change a diaper, hear a cry, play with the baby or feed a bottle. It really is a simple concept.
Why do you think we turn to social media like we have? It gives us some sort of HUMAN interaction that doesn’t involve poop, spit up or child proofed cupboards. We still love our babies but we need a break too. Have you ever noticed how refreshed and happy Mom is when she gets to run errands ALONE?
Your house will be a lot calmer and you might even get more action if you give her a break and it is YOUR idea.

Nap time is usually my power hour for work. It would make for a great virtual Mommy’s night though!
