I can’t garden to save my life and I have already told you about my peat pot failure this year. So when I stumbled upon a gardening post that looked idiot proof I wasn’t about to forget it. If I can grow green onions in my house then anyone out there is fully capable of doing it too!
I made a delicious potato salad for my birthday, post to come on a recipe day, and the only thing that I didn’t have was green onion. I planned and planned but I still forgot something; I know that I am not the only person out there that does this. So Michael went to the store to get me some the day before the party.
Luckily I had pinned this post because I had this brilliant idea to replant the green onions roots instead of throwing them away! Where was this idea years ago before I spent countless dollars on green onions? She planted hers in the ground but I was shoulder deep in dishes and food so I didn’t have the time to do that. Maybe that is why I am a gardening failure?
So what did I do? I tossed those roots into a glass of water and set them on the window sill. BEST IDEA EVER! It has been two weeks and they are fully grown again with minimal effort on my part! Fan-freaking-tastic!
