One step forward and two steps back is the way things work isn’t it? Michael is a very particular individual so I approached sippy cups like I do everything in life, indifferently. It took about a month of water sippy cups for him to understand the concept of ‘this is hard and has handles but the same thing comes out so I think I like it?’
When this circus act of walking, twirling, sitting and scooting started to take place as he drank his bottles I got brave and started mentally preparing myself to get rid of his bottles. What was the worst that could happen, right?
They might be bagged up but that doesn’t mean that they are far away! I just want them OUT OF MY KITCHEN for goodness sake! I am no fool and I know that if he isn’t ready, then he isn’t ready. Apparently the fence is up his butt because he just can’t make up his mind!
Day 1 went pretty good. He fussed at his nap times but he didn’t get a bottle all day. I was impressed!
Day 2 was less than OK but it wasn’t a total failure. He SCREAMED and SCREAMED and wouldn’t take the sippy cup for his first drink of the morning. I had only gotten 3 hours of sleep so I was not in the mood to deal with a whiny baby. My patience was zero when he woke up early and -10 when Daddy Michael decided to starting arguing with me first thing in the morning. Seriously dude?!
Day 3 has started and I went ahead gave him the bottle because he wouldn’t take a sippy cup for his first drink of the day! I guess we will see what happens the rest of the day but this whole bottle and sippy cup thing is driving me bonkers!
