Baby Needs a Chill Pill

3 Flares 3 Flares ×

Without explanation this photo would probably get Child Protective Services called on me or could quite possibly get some blog troll to come out and tell me what a bad Mom I am because Michael is playing with a Xanax bottle. Do eeeettt trolls! I love comments. :)

It doesn’t matter if a toy sings, has flashing lights, moves or even back flips because a child loves the simple things in life. Take this EMPTY Xanax bottle for instance. Daddy Michael wanted to take it away from him when he saw him walking around the family room and banging it on anything and everything that would make a noise back at him.

Me “Why are you taking it away?”

Him “Because it is pill bottle.”
Me “It’s empty though.”
Him “He still shouldn’t be playing with it.”
Me “Don’t you see how funny this is? He can’t sit still unless he is playing with the XANAX bottle!”
Him “You know, you are right!”

Case and point!

He is relaxing while watching some cartoons and holding on to his pill bottle. Life is goooodd! :)

Do tell me what your children play with that could be a compromising picture! Michael loves the bottles of wine in the fridge or the occasional empty beer bottle because those make great noises. What about the silverware in the dishwasher if I am loading things while he is awake? For some reason he is attracted to the knives and that freaks me out when he reaches for them! Just another reason why I refuse to clean while he is awake. haha

I'm not perfect and I'm OK with it. I pick my battles so I have ammunition when it is something I really want. I still can't believe Michael takes me out in public because I have zero tact and curse like a sailor.

That’s funny right there. My babies all loved empty cigarette packs and window envelopes
All squishy and crinkly and stuff. It is what it is. If it doesn’t harm him, let him play!

I agree to let them play! I can see the appeal of a cigarette pack because of the noise.

I guess this is one of the things we moms get – just let him play with the stupid pill bottle if it keeps him happy. It is way cheaper than most of the toys I know

Too funny and true. I bet there are a lot of potentially detrimental pictures I can think of in our home! So glad to see that (big) mini Michael is getting his Xanax fill :)

I remember my little guy playing with a box of tampons. Same thing, they made noise. LOL.

As a sahm I find myself picking my battles wisely and therefore I don’t sweat the small stuff…Hubby on the other hand is a different story-we definitely balance each other out:)

    This made me lmao:

I don’t like to sweat the small stuff either. I am a hoarder of battle loses so I can claim victory to those that I actually care about! :)
