I don’t know about you, but this Wine with Mallery Advent Calendar is loads of fun! Maybe because I am drinking wine every day and am writing this with a slight buzz? Perhaps… that isn’t important though. What is important is the giveaway that is attached to the third day of my Advent Calendar {down there, scroll down, maybe even read the post and watch the video}! Wahoo for free formula!
Wine with Mallery cliff notes for those who can’t watch the video…
La Finca Chardonnay {2011}
This is another delicious $3.99 wine from Trader Joe’s! What are the odds that two days in a row we are talking about a yummy wine? The odds are good, so long as we are talking about wines from South America. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! You will want to serve this 12.5% wine at 43-46 degrees, per the bottle. This is a medium-light bodied white wine, that leans more on the light side. This Chardonnay’s nose is very fruity with a hint of apple in it; it tastes like a mouthful of fruit, and yet doesn’t have a lingering finish.
PS: You have to watch the video to find out what that thing around the wine is.

Breastfeeding vs Formula
Sooooo… my sister wants to stop breastfeeding at about 3 weeks; that’s not the end of the world but it will cost her money if she isn’t smart about it. Thank goodness for cost effective store brand formulas! Seriously, store brand formula is about 50% cheaper, without coupons or formula checks, and just as effective as the name brand formulas. Is a name really worth paying a premium for? No way Jose!
I had a Gerber baby until I realized store brand formula is WAY, way cheaper! I was just at Walmart buying formula to stock up for our next baby and saw that it was…. wait for it…. $13.27! I even had a $10 coupon Parent’s Choice mailed to me! I seriously just payed $3.27 for a tub of formula! Squeeeeee!
Formula Giveaway
One of you lucky ducks are going to win the above bundle! I talked about each of these items in the video. {HINT} Watch the video!
- One can of Parent’s Choice Premium
- One can of Up & Up Advantage
- One copy of Save a Bundle: 50+ Ways to Save Big on Baby Gear

Don’t let the guilt of not breast feeding get to you and always bring more formula than you think you are going to need with you.

pre-measure the formula into bottles for on the go, but leave the water until you’re ready to feed. You avoid bringing unnecessary bottle coolers, and worrying about temperature of the milk. You can find water almost everywhere. Or bring bottles of water with you as well to fill the baby bottle.

I am a proud formula feeder or was! Love to win this for my girlfriend who just had a baby! I used to pre measure all the formula before I went out for the day.

Awesome giveaway! Thank you! I’m expecting #3 in March and while I hope to bf, it doesn’t tend to last long – my record? 4 months and then formula fed. And I see nothing wrong with it!

I’m waaaaay past breast feeding but I’m still down for wine drinking. I’ve actually bought the same bottle from our local store. Kinda surprised it was pretty good for $3.99!

So glad my days of formula making are over! I was counting down the days to my little one’s 1st birthday
Now a little over 2 months later, I’m ready to toss the sippy cup totally! My biggest tip would definitely be utilizing the pre-packaged formula for on the go. I’d typically make my bottles the night before for daycare and the morning feeding to make our mornings go smoother.

You don’t need to warm bottles. We give our daughter room temperature bottled water and it was perfect, she was even fine with cold water, it definitely helps you be able to do morè if you dont have to worry about how your going to warm up a bottle.

Never stop trying! With my three children, not every “formula” was fit for all of them. They each had their issues. It is trial and error knowing that they can only speak to you with their cries, so listen, with patience. There are many options to choose from, it can be tiring and tricky at first, but once you find a good fit, it will all work out in the end. Avoiding getting worked up with help (talking with other moms is a great help too!)
