Juices recipes are all the rage right now in my circle of friends. Each one of us is juicing for different reasons and it all leads back to one thing, our health. You are probably thinking there is no way the world’s pickiest eater drinks green juice every day. Trust me when I say Michael couldn’t believe his ears as I told him green juice was good.
And here’s what you missed on the last episode of weight loss with Mallery. <~ Read like the intro to Glee.
- I was pissed because I gained 10 pounds in the 5 months I sat on my ass eating pizza twice a week.
- I started changing my diet and said screw waiting for a good coupon deal to buy something.
- Summer sent me a video about a Multiple Sclerosis patient’s experience following the Paleo Diet.
- Jillian grossed me out by telling me why I should eat organic.
- Amy suggested I juice my vegetables to get my 7 daily required cups of leafy greens.
Phew! That was my journey to my first Whole Foods trip. Hush your mouth if you are going to tell me cheese and pizza crust aren’t Paleo. I have no desire to be 100% Paleo… yet.
And that’s also how I got to my second, third, and fourth trips to the grocery store. Keep in mind, this is all in one week. Juicing is surprisingly delicious and I encourage everyone to try it. The hardest part for me was finding an actual juice recipe on the internet, not just ‘this is what I used’. Maybe I am the only person who has a hard time flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to green juice? Who knows. So far this is my favorite juice recipe.
Spinach juice recipe (about 20 ounces of juice)
- 8-10 ounces of spinach (approximately 1 bunch)
- 2 apples
- 1 cucumber

The combination of hitting the gym hard 4 days last week and juicing twice in the morning has paid off! I ended up dropping 4 pounds and feel amazing. I’m not playing when I say I feel great. This is what I’ve been eating so you can see that doing a complete juice fast isn’t the only option.
- 10 am- Spinach juice
- 12 pm- Second juice
- 4 pm- Chicken salad
- 8 pm- Whatever I want for dinner: meatloaf, tacos, pizza, etc.
I’m still drinking my 8-10 glasses of water a day and I still sit on my rump 75% of the day. I still even have a Goldfish (or five) when Michael feeds them to me. I have pooped 3 times in 6 days without the aid of a plunger since I started juicing! Now you guys might think that is the weirdest thing for me to mention because food and poop don’t go together, but you are very wrong. I was a someone who was taking a capful of Miralax every single day and still only going twice a week. Pooping is a very big deal in this house!
I like to think I have made a giant leap to the side of healthy eating and can’t wait to see what my next weigh in brings!
