What little boy wouldn’t consider a Disney Cars dream party the best birthday celebration EVER? Answer- not many. Call me crazy but Michael gets two birthday celebrations for years where his birthday doesn’t fall on a Saturday. This was the year I cheated on Michael’s ‘day of birth’ celebration. This was the year I wised up and took the easy route. This was the year I saved a piece of my sanity, because my sanity is already a lacking, and let Walmart do the work for me. It was a glorious day.
I knew it was time for a Cars dream party because the vroom vrooms had started and he began taking his little orange corvette EV-VER-RY-WHERE. And I mean everywhere!
Now, knowing I am someone who takes a week off of work to throw Michael’s Saturday birthday celebration with a 7 day migraine, take a minute and wrap your head around this Cars dream party. Why Walmart? Why not do two semi-homemade celebrations? Do kids even have fun at a pre-packaged birthday party?
“Egads! She hosted pre-packaged birthday party?” <insert the cluck cluck clucks from supermoms everywhere>
For the record, Walmart had everything for my Cars dream party and the budget stayed under $100, including a gift. My mind was seriously blown after I went shopping. Here I was spending hundreds of dollars and countless hours on the Saturday party… and I set the Cars dream party scene in just a few hours. I swear I spent more time taking pictures than I did setting the decorations up. Nuts, I tell ya!
Welcome to our Cars dream party
Cool mom status will begin in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1.
Ps: Did you catch the cool wife status in the video? Men might get taller but they never grow up.
The cake! Oh em gee, guys! Never have I ever been around a cake like this before. Is it a cake or cupcakes? Are those really toys on top of the cake? And yes, I absolutely picked up this Disney-Pixar birthday cake at Walmart. It was SO COOL! In fact, so cool that Michael walked up to the table and started driving the car around the cake before the party started. True story. I wanted to cry despite it being oh so adorable.
Disney and Hallmark have truly knocked their dream parties out of the park. The level of detail is exactly what I need to give my guests a wonderland experience without breaking the bank or my back. You guys do realize the importance of those words coming out of my mouth, right? Pay attention because this is a big deal.
Adding a little flair to my Cars dream party
Trust me when I say I am all about little details when it comes to birthday celebrations. I swear I will end up in party planner anonymous one day. With that said, I ONLY created one additional crafty detail for the Cars dream party. That was a ONE as in the number before TWO. Absurd, I know, but Hallmark has their packaged birthday parties on point!
- Purchase checkered Duct Tape and toothpicks while at Walmart.
- Cut Duct Tape to desired width. (I prefer the look of 3 rows.)
- Place toothpick in the middle of the Duct Tape and fold it over.
Wham! Bam! Thank you, ma’am!
That looks awesome, I bet he had a great time!

under $100?! I always just assumed a pre-packaged party would cost me a whole lot more, but I’ve never actually priced them. Next party is September.
It looks like a fun time was had!
