This back to school bake sale was inspired by my partnership with General Mills.
Just a few short years ago, I was a casual collector of Box Tops. You know, it was a good day if I remembered to clip the coveted pink label off of the box, but no harm, no foul if I forgot. Now that Michael is in school and will benefit from the .10?
Game. On!
I wouldn’t call myself a dumpster diver but …
Kidding. My extreme Box Top collecting only reaches as far as clipping the boxes before they hit the pantry so the boys don’t pitch them without me knowing. I like to reserve my crazy for other things, like parties.
Parties like this back to school bake sale. Also known as a great way to bribe friends and family when begging reminding them to save their Box Tops fails.
BACK TO SCHOOL BAKE SALE DECORATIONS:
The table decorations were made out of school supplies and paper products yielding Bonus Box Tops.
And I added a chalkboard banner for extra schoolhouse charm.
Simple and still oh so adorable, right? We’re trying to collect Box Tops here, not win the award for complex party of the year.
(See what I did there? Just call me a modern day Dr. Seuss.)
BACK TO SCHOOL BAKE SALE IDEAS:
You have a few options for the baked goods.
- You can get on with your bad self and make elaborate treats.
- You can purchase pre-made desserts.
- Or, and this option makes the most sense in my mind, you can recruit a school aged helper and roll with their ‘precious’ confections.
In an effort to save time, I choose to purchase pre-made desserts. Yeah, yeah. Do as I say, not as I do.
Then, I gave each dessert a price in Box Tops.
Keeping all budgets in mind, of course.
Please tell me I’m not the only one finding the humor in my genius idea.
… Bueller?
At the end of the bake sale, you will have either earned a bunch of Box Tops for your child’s classroom, or compelled your guests to unload them on you before they head home. I mean, what else is grandma going to do with tiny pieces of cardboard?
Exactly.
Level Box Top genius complete!

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for specially marked General Mills products so you can take advantage of the Bonus Box Tops available at Walmart.
