FROZEN FOOD MYTHS DEBUNKED

Let’s talk about frozen food myths a minute. Don’t your panties in a bunch as you sit there thinking frozen foods aren’t compatible with my new juicing lifestyle. Believe it or not, there are frozen food options that don’t taste like you are gnawing on cardboard and contain these crazy things called vegetables. Who would have thunk it? There are even frozen food options that don’t parallel a carb IV drip.

Frozen food myths debunked- Healthy Choice recipes use chef-inspired ingredients like apples instead of sugar for tart sweetness and a splash of red wine for a punch of flavor instead of added salt. #frozenfacts

I wouldn’t be a horrible housewife if I didn’t take shortcuts, lots and lots of shortcuts. I love shortcuts. Shortcuts were created by women because women are smarter than men. Didn’t you know all of the bad ideas in the world were created by men?

FROZEN FOOD MYTH- FROZEN FOODS TASTE LIKE CARDBOARD AND ARE UNINSPIRED.

Hold the phone! You don’t seriously think all frozen food tastes like cardboard, right? This is so untrue. Does the picture above look like something only a goat would eat? (True story- I used to have goats that ate cardboard.) No, no it doesn’t! It was pretty freaking delicious if you really want to know the truth.

Frozen food myths debunked- Healthy Choice meals are made with simple and fresh ingredients – like crisp vegetables and tender meats. #frozenfacts

FROZEN FOOD MYTH- FROZEN FOODS ARE NOT MADE WITH FRESH INGREDIENTS

Think about this for a minute. I have frozen vegetables in my freezer because they are simple and won’t go bad if we decide to trade “dinner” for pizza. These vegetables act as my backup plan when we need something for dinner and don’t have anything in the refrigerator. Healthy Choice meals use the same concept. The vegetables are picked at their peak of freshness and most go from farm to freezer within 24 hours.

FROZEN FOOD MYTH- FROZEN MEALS ARE NOT GOOD FOR SOMEONE WATCHING THEIR WEIGHT OR TRYING TO EAT HEALTHY.

Whatever you say, Jane. I was plenty filled up by my meal and when it was gone, it was gone. There weren’t any second helpings. I didn’t eat Michael’s leftovers. I ate my meal and let my body realize it was… wait for it… FULL!

I am not a nutritionist or anything official like that, but I know a thing or two about how easy Healthy Choice meals make my life. This is what I do know:

  • I‘m a busy housewife who wants one night a week where the kitchen is clean.
  • I am a busy mom who wants to stop hiding in the bathroom for a minute alone.
  • I am a healthy individual who understands the importance of moderation in our lives.

I challenge you to think about these frozen food myths before you judge a book by its cover.

ConAgra Foods frozen meals give families access to real ingredients like crunchy, freshly cut vegetables, homemade pasta and ripe fruit year-round. Just like most people blanch veggies before freezing them – ConAgra Foods does too – to help preserve color, texture and keep them fresh!

Give it a try sometime! Marie Callender’s hearty pot pies are filled with tender meat, freshly cut vegetables and Marie’s authentic golden, flaky crust. And Healthy Choice recipes use chef-inspired ingredients like, apples instead of sugar for tart sweetness and a splash of red wine for a punch of flavor instead of added salt.
