Growing Potatoes Indoors

So I was reading the other day because I do occasionally do that in my non-existent free time. You know, when I am on the throne and Michael is contained is his gated community. Poor kid.

I got this genius idea to try and grow a potato indoors because my green onions and my garlic haven’t died yet. I even had some potatoes that had become old and wrinkly and nobody likes a shriveled up potato! Apparently you are supposed to use certified seed potatoes but surely someone out there has had this genius idea before, right?

I let these suckers sprout for a little over a month and I guess I could have tried this earlier but I just didn’t get around to it. The internet told me that you are supposed to cut them so the wet side can callous over and not rot but the internet could be fooling me. Seriously though, have any of you tried this? Am I wasting my time?

I need to find a pretty big pot if they are supposed to be 7 inches deep and 12 inches apart. Maybe I will just try with that overachiever on the left; it has a pretty nice sprout on it already! The only bad thing that could happen is my failed attempt to grow a potato hurts my ego but we were just going to chuck these anyways so I am not out any money.

I think I know why I can grow things indoors. The plants are in the gated community and that is where I spend all of my time. I can’t forget to water them because I look at them everyday and that is way easier than actually going outside. It makes sense to me but eventually Michael is going to get irritated with my indoor garden and it will come to an end. Hmm… what is my argument angle going to be? I need to figure that out so I am prepared for battle!

I will keep you posted on the lack of any progress so you can try it at home if it actually works.
