What do you think of when you hear the phrase ‘seductive tables for two’? I think of our monthly date night where we pull out the fancy dinnerware, candles, and buy enormous cupcakes from Oliver T’s! I have been, what you would call, someone who isn’t very nice lately so I needed to make it up to Michael with a mind blowing date night spread. All it took was a little help from Moll Anderson and a quick trip to Sam’s Club!

Confession: I am a bit of a fabric junkie
When I say fabric junkie, I mean one of those people who have piles of folded up fabric in their craft closet… just in case! So when I was reading Moll Anderson’s new book, Seductive Tables For Two: Tablescapes, Picnics, and Recipes That Inspire Romance, and got to her tip about layering contrasting colors and textures to create my own style, I knew where to get my tablecloth from! I think overlays are so versatile; I can use the black when I’m feeling sassy, and I can rotate in a white sheer if I’m feeling like decorating for Spring. The options are endless!

TIp: Purchase dollar store plates for your chargers and spray paint them to match your theme. (Tutorial to come.)
I promise you will never decorate another way once you start using a contrasting color palette! I still remember how proud I felt after my first colored party! I decorated for Mother’s Day in green, my birthday in yellow, Michael’s birthday in a beach theme, and my sister’s baby shower was Star Wars. Tablescaping is such a fun hobby!
5 ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS FOR CREATING SEDUCTIVE TABLES FOR TWO:
- Color
- Lighting
- Music
- Flowers
- Fabric
IT’S NOT ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE TABLE; IT’S WHAT YOU PUT ON IT. -MOLL ANDERSON
Hands down, my pride and joy of this seductive table for two is my sassy centerpiece! I think feathers are a playful version of Moll Anderson’s flower suggestion. She makes is so stinkin’ easy to get hooked on tablescaping! My mom stopped over on Monday and she now wants to borrow my book. ?
Tip: No one will be able to tell if an item came from the dollar store once you deck it out for your table! Example- Those purple candle jars and my cupcake tower are both dollar store items! The purple wine bottles were from my stash of empties!
I didn’t give him our massive cupcakes this time, but you bet your bottom he was blown away with the effort I put into the display! Michael is a visual creature and when his lazy housewife pulls out all of the stops… you know she did something wrong or wants something big. (Like my Nikon 5200.) Ha!
Check out Moll Anderson’s radio show is on XM Talk 168 every Saturday at 5:00 pm EST and catch her on today’s Access Hollywood episode!
