I never would have thought to serve a Manwich meatball recipe but the third can of Manwich from a sampling gig I’m doing was staring me in the face and I didn’t have anything for a sauce. How I forgot about the sauce part of serving meatballs at my football party is beyond me. I mean, the sauce is sort of a must have for meatballs. Amiright or amiright?
MANWICH MEATBALL INGREDIENTS
- 6lbs of Meatballs
- Manwich {Bold}
- 1/2c Honey
- 5oz BBQ sauce
I looked at a few Manwich Recipes before deciding on what would pair well with my meatball recipe experiment and came up with the oh-so-simple ingredients list above. Why did I pick honey? Well, I guess people use grape jelly in some meatball sauces? I never would have guessed that in my entire life, so I had Michael pick between honey and maple syrup because that’s what was in the cupboard. I was flying by the seat of my pants and HOPING they would end up edible.
It doesn’t matter if it is a last minute party addition or an easy weeknight dinner, I sort of wing everything in my life because I am too lazy for multiple grocery store trips in one week. It is what it is. *shrugs*
I had to add this random bottle of BBQ to the sauce because:
- I was making SIX pounds of meatballs. Everything from Sam’s Club is double the size. We had meatballs for days after the football party!
- The honey taste needed a little somethin’ somethin’ to make it perfect.
The meatballs ended up being such a delightful surprise! I honestly never even considered using Manwich until it was sitting on the counter in front of me. Cheers to a recipe experiment ending well!
